Sun exposure is the number one contributing - and controllable - factor of premature againg.
No tan is a safe tan. A suntan is a response to injurious assault by U.V. light to the skin. It is the skin's way of trying to protect itself by trigerring a rise in melanin - the naturally occuring protective pigment which darkens the skin. When the tanning mechanism is activated it is also a sure sign that damage is taking place.
There are two types of ultraviolet (UV) rays: Ultraviolet A (UVA) and Ultraviolet B (UVB). Both are harmful for different reasons. UVA rays cause most skin cancers and aging (remember A for aging). They penetrate the skin and may effect the DNA of new cells being formed which in turn has the potential to accelerate skin aging and create cancerious cells. UVA rays have lenghts of 320 to 400 nanometers and can penetrate glass. Most importantly, they are only blocked by physical blocking agents, such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which refelct or scatter the rays before they penetrate the skin. UVB rays are the principal cause of sunburn (remember B for burn) and penetrate the upper layers of the skin. UVB have lengths of 280 to 320 nanometers and cannot penetrate glass. UVB rays are absorbed primarily by sunscreens, such as octinoxate and octisalate.
Even cloudy days pose a threat, as the suns UV rays can filter through overcast skies. Therefore, it is important to use a Broad Spectrum sunscreen all year round, to both protect against UVA and UVB rays and help retain youthful looking skin and firm facial contours.

Oily & acne prone skin.
- Apply Cellex-C SunShade Cream to face (avoid upper eyelid, and inner or outer corner of the eye) neck, 'V' of chest and back of hands and/or body. You should see a slight film on the skin immediately after application. Allow the cream to absorb and become invisible - this usually takes less than a minute.
- For greater effectiveness, apply Cellex-C SunShade fifteen to thirty minutes before sun exposure, then re-apply every 6-8 hours or after water activity.
- Apply make-up if desired.
When to use:
